Welcome to the 2015 Golf Preview, where I’ll take a look at selected golfers and examine what to expect over the next twelve months. Today, we look at Hideki Matsuyama.
The History
Back in 2009, the golf world was captivated by an 18-year old golfer who looked destined to be the first major winner to come out of Japan. He played in the final two majors of the year, and went 3-2 against much more seasoned competition at the Presidents Cup, but the last few years haven’t been that kind to Ryo Ishikawa, who admittedly at just 23 years old is far from done, but while Ishikawa has fallen to the 7th ranked player in the world from Japan, Hideki Matsuyama has become a true superstar.

Last year’s best reaction GIFs
As we’ve seen in the posts linked above, golf can bring out a wide range of emotions, even at the pro level. There were some quality reactions to happenings on the course this year, from Miguel Angel Jimenez reminding everyone that he’s still the man, Ian Poulter proving that he might not be completely balanced and Michelle Wie finally breaking through.
The best golf reaction GIFs from 2014 are listed below.
2015 Preview: Victor Dubuisson

Welcome to the 2015 Golf Preview, where I’ll take a look at selected golfers and examine what to expect over the next twelve months. Today, we look at Victor Dubuisson.
The History
Dubuisson first really appeared on the radar of golf fans late in 2013 when he won in Turkey against a loaded field, but it was at the WGC-Match Play back in February when he really exploded in the finals against Jason Day, turning himself into Victor Duballesteros with some of the shots he hit to extend the match. He would eventually go on to lose to Day, but the 23-year old from France had made his mark and even though the rest of his season wasn’t the best, thanks in part to a shoulder injury that sidelined him for a decent chunk of the year, he sneaked inside the top-10 in the final two majors of the year and was able to qualify for his first Ryder Cup.
2015 Preview: Dustin Johnson

Welcome to the 2015 Golf Preview, where I’ll take a look at selected golfers and examine what to expect over the next twelve months. Today, we look at Dustin Johnson.
The History
As we inch closer to 2015, there’s an argument to be made that no golfer on the planet is more intriguing than Dustin Johnson. At 30 years old, Johnson has already posted eight wins on the PGA Tour, with most of them coming at big events like the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and his most recent victory at the 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions. He’s also had plenty of chances to win a major in his first few years on the PGA Tour, with his best likely coming at the 2010 PGA Championship when he was penalized two strokes on the 72nd hole for grounding his club in a “bunker” at Whistling Straits, which made him miss out on a playoff by one shot. This came just two months after the 2010 U.S. Open where he had the lead in the final round before ballooning with an 82 to finish tied for 8th. Prodigious power and a very underrated short game, much like two-time major winner John Daly, have made Johnson one of the best players in the world from the moment he stepped onto the PGA Tour in 2008. Unfortunately, also like Daly, that hasn’t been the whole story.

If you’ve been reading this blog in 2014, it’s pretty much a guarantee that you’ve seen me talk about #TourSauce, or more accurately, post a GIF or a Vine of your favourite pro doing something ridiculous. This is all because of the guys at No Laying Up, who presented #TourSauce to us earlier in the year and it’s actually become a pretty big deal in our little online golf community. If, for some reason, you need a refresher on what we’re actually talking about here, head on over to NLU for their four part series.
Now, I was happy to help them out when they started their tournament, aptly named “The Saucies”, to crown the best #TourSauce moment of 2014, but with so many things to choose from, I figured this also deserved its own post. My favourites from 2014 are listed below, and as always, you can check out the full collection right here.

Over the next two weeks, I’ll be posting my 2014 Golf GIF Roundups, broken down into several ‘Best Of’ categories. Today, we look back at some of the angriest moments in golf over the past twelve months.
Previous 2014 posts: The Shanks & The Laughs
We’ve all done it.
Cruising along in the middle of a good round and you make the turn in just a couple over par. You head to the back and you open with a bogey, and then another. Then, on the 12th tee, you send your ball so far right that Mitt Romney wouldn’t go near it and you decide to take out your anger on the ground that obviously made you slice the ball so horribly.

Over the next two weeks, I’ll be posting my 2014 Golf GIF Roundups, broken down into several ‘Best Of’ categories. Today, we look back at some of the funnier moments from 2014.
Previous posts: The Shanks
With the way media is consumed in 2014, moments live forever. Things that would have been lost just a few years ago are now saved with things like Twitter, Vine and of course, GIFs. In most cases, they’re great highlights or someone doing something that gets them in trouble after the game is over, but that’s not what we’re talking about today.
These are the moments in golf that made me laugh in 2014.
2015 Preview: Charl Schwartzel

Welcome to the 2015 Golf Preview, where I’ll take a look at selected golfers and examine what to expect over the next twelve months. Today, we look at Charl Schwartzel.
The History
Coming into the 2011 Masters, Charl Schwartzel was a player that was on the radar for serious golf fans, but he certainly wasn’t considered a favourite at Augusta National. The then 26-year old had won six times in his first seven years on the European Tour and that combined with a string of good finishes, mostly in his native South Africa, allowed Schwartzel to climb to 29th in the Official World Golf Rankings before the first major of 2011. Schwartzel started strong with a 3-under par 69, but was four shots back of Rory McIlroy after the opening round, and had the same deficit heading into Sunday.
